The single should hit sometime in the next two weeks….Meanwhile, I got the lowdown on the upcoming Uproar Tour mainstage line up. Heard 3 songs and you can hear snippets of them right now when you head over to Mark’s Facebook page. Wanted to tell Mark how into his new record I am. Unfortunately, the guys bolted straight after the show, so I only got to say a fleeting hello to Mark, the 2 Scotts and Brian. And ya gotta love him for it!) Then Shinedown came out with a vengeance and totally blew us all away! Forget how amazing Brent Smith looks, version 2012, slimmed down, buffed and ready! The band was so tight, the production was great, and the set was slammin’! I had to leave about an hour into it to head uptown to see Creed at the Beacon. Anyhow, he took the stage by storm, in his ripped shirt! (I told his management they needed to buy the guy a new one, but Rick is just one of those guys who is total blue collar. He’s like a running back or maybe a baseball player. So it will make it’s debut on this Memorial Day weekend’s special edition of hardDrive, our “ Cover It Up” cover song show! How cool is that!? Adelitas Way’s Rick DeJesus, man, I forgot how big and tall he is compared to the other guys in the band. Everyone brought their A game and the crowd was so into every set! I was kidding with AoD’s Jonny Hetherington about writing my name on his arm (the dude has this thing about writing things on left arm that sorta look like a tattoo from far away, but when you see it close, it’s done with a sharpie!) He says he writes down things like lyrics to a song or the name of someone important to the band! Well, then I see “ ROXY” in big dark marker on there and I couldn’t believe it! (OK, I did provoke it by telling him I spell it with a Y in case he was so inclined….) And Art of Dying are giving hardDrive an exclusive! They recorded, but haven’t mastered, their cover of Aerosmith‘s “ Sweet Emotion.” The song has never been released by the band. Overall, I thought Adelitas Way put on a great performance and I was glad that we decided to make the last-minute trip to Las Vegas to celebrate New Year’s Eve.Good Monday to ya! I am still buzzing about the shows I went to Friday night! If you have the Avalanche Tour coming to your town and you want a solid night of rock, then grab your nearest and dearest and get over there! The show was killer from opening act Art of Dying, to Adelitas Way & Shinedown. Drummer Tre Stafford and guitarist Robert Zakaryan round out the now quartet sounding as tight as the last time I saw them perform. The band has had a few changes since the last time I saw them with Andrew Cushing replacing Derek Johnston on bass and guitarist Keith Wallen leaving the band. I love Rick DeJesus’s energy and emotion while onstage, he is truly a great frontman and is always ‘all in’ when he performs. I am a fan of Adelitas Way so I admit I’m biased I thought the new songs sounded really good and were definitely true to their form. They played an hour and fifteen minute set consisting of hits off their last two albums and new songs from their forthcoming album, scheduled for release in early 2014. With a nice variety of restaurants, bars, casinos, hotels, and activities, there is plenty to keep you busy.Īdelitas Way is a band I have seen several times always putting on an energetic show and their New Year’s Eve performance was no exception.

The Fremont Street Experience has three nice size permanent stages setup that allow three bands to play simultaneously.

I’m all about downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street! I love the open air venue with the light show displayed on the worlds largest tv screen spanning around 1500 feet and around half a million watts of sound. However, for a room that will usually run you about $40 a night, you better be ready to drop $300 if you want to stay there New Year’s Eve! With a band lineup including Vince Neil, Papa Roach, Adelitas Way and Blues Traveler the hotel price was well worth it! We stayed at the Golden Nugget which is a pretty great hotel. I promptly got on the Internet and over-paid for a couple of plane tickets and a hotel room. It was just a few weeks away and I had no plane tickets or a hotel room reservation. But, when I saw that Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas had a great band lineup for their New Year’s Eve 2013 celebration, I knew I had to go. I had no plans this year for New Year’s Eve.
